Folk who all their lives have worked and contributed (in the broadest sense) to our society deserve good choices when we become frail and vulnerable.
COVID-19 has exposed weaknesses in the system – how we address both the need for strong support at home, and arrangements for respite and long term care.
Carers are lonely, and desperately in need of a helping hand.
I chaired a home care Charity for several years and now support two eighty-something parents, one with vascular dementia. I know so many who are in the same boat.
Sooner or later its something most of us will face. We need to distribute Government resources generously and thoughtfully.
